A Controversial Debate? – As a partner for the November issue of DBZ focusing on “Building in Existing Structures,” Stephan Schütz (gmp Executive Partner) and Christian Hellmund (gmp Partner) have selected projects that showcase a variety of approaches to refurbishment and transformation. In the context of the gmp exhibition “UMBAU Nonstop Transformation,” on display at the Architekturgalerie München from November 13 to December 7, they will discuss different positions on conversion and building in existing structures together with Elke Reichel (Reichel Schlaier Architekten), Florian Götze (Wandel Lorch Götze Wach) and Nikolaj Rahbek Ernst (Mikkelsen Arkitekter), moderated by Benedikt Kraft. The evening will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition, which presents nine current conversion projects by gmp, including two Munich projects: the Isarphilharmonie and Halle E at Gasteig HP8, as well as the building of the European Patent Office.
